Tebbetts MO is named for Lewis Bates Tebbetts, the St. Louis industrialist. It is a railroad town. Tebbetts was an invester in the railroad. I am his great-great-grandson, through his son George Stevens Tebbetts, then through his son, also George Stevens Tebbetts, then through his son John England Tebbetts. I have corresponded with several St. Louis cousins over the years, including David Tebbetts, Thomas Tebbetts (son of Mansur Tebbetts), and Charles Tebbetts, son of Charles Deere Tebbetts.
