Did you get your answer yet?

David is the son of Lewis Bates Tebbets, born Feb 26, 1887 - possibly in Baltimore, Maryland, more likely in St. Louis. His wife, Marion Swingley, was born in 1887 in Kansas. Source: 1920 Census, St. Louis, Missouri.

Lewis Bates Tebbetts was the son of:
George Stevens Tebbetts, born August 8, 1863 in Woodbury, Maryland (suburb of Baltimore). His wife was Harriett M. Pfaff, of Ohio. They were married May 15, 1887 in St. Louis, Missouri.

George Stevens Tebbetts was the son of:
Lewis Bates Tebbetts, born August 30, 1834 in Great Falls, New Hampshire - and his wife Ellen Elizabeth Mansur, born October 12, 1835 in Lowell, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts. They were married in 1859 in Lowell. They moved to Baltimore, and in 1874 to St. Louis, Missouri where Lewis went into business with his brother-in-law.

Ellen's brother was Alvah Mansur, who was quite an entrepeneur. When Alvah died in 1896 his estate was valued at $4 million. He was in business with Charles H. Deere, son of John Deere. Alvah and Lewis began the "Mansur Tebbetts Implement Company" in St. Louis, and both got very rich from it. It was the first distributorship of the John Deere Company.

Lewis Bates Tebbetts was the son of Lewis B. Tebbetts and Rebecca Roberts of New Hampshire.

I am still working on this line! This is the family of my Mother-in-law. Hope this helps!
