I am descended from:
Joe Teaster married Emeline Saunders
Annie Teaster married Spencer Allen Lassiter

I have very little information so far, but would love to exchange what I do have with you and anyone else who may know about this family. They lived in St. Johns, NC in Hertford County. There is still a working farm owned by a male Teaster who I have spoken to. I visited the farm in July 2001 and took pictures of it and the small family cemetery. I was told by Mr. Teaster that this is a small branch of the Teaster family not closely related to most of the other Teasters in the general area. That is also true of the Lassiter family that married into the Teasters, as mentioned above. He also mentioned that the name was originally McTeaster and that the family originated in Scotland.
