Do you have the death records for Mary Jane Hammer? If she died where a certificate was maintained, it might name her parents. If not, how about an obituary? Or records at the funeral home?

Where did she marry Mr. Hammer? Was there a Teas family nearby, or Shepherds? Seeing as she was born in 1846 I would suspect you could find her with her parents in 1850, 1860, and maybe 1870. But then, there might be two Mary Janes, a Teas and a Shepherd.

If her parents turn out to be Teas, I would like to correspond with you.
