I am a red herring! Although my father (Alan b1935) and his father (Leslie / Lazarus) came from Leeds, the name was adopted. The original name was Topolofski - my family fled Russia. But why they chose the name & spelling Teale is a mystery to me - were they impressed by other Leeds Teales?!
