This is my line also. I still am looking for the parents of Enoch Taylor. His daughter, Emeline Taylor was my 2grgrandmother. Her husband was Esquire Boone Campbell. Enoch died in Morgan Co MO and in his will named his son-in-law, Boone Campbell, as his executor. In the will Enoch only left $5.00 to his son's William and Clifton while leaving a great deal more to each of his other children. Clifton was very upset over the will and upon meeting Boone Campbell outside Stover argued, shooting and killing Boone. Everyone in the family agrees that Clifton then fled to Texas to avoid jail. Some say that he changed his name. Would like to know if you have ran across any references to Clifton? Since your family ended up in Texas, it might be they knew of Clifton.
