Tayloe family was English Gentry ... not Native American.
The Tayloe family were FFV - First Families of Virginia ... the elite socially and economically. They were members of the House of Burgessess. The wealthiest of the wealthy families in that day. There is soooo much Tayloe history available in the state of Virginia. Look in Richmond at the State Library, The Historical Society of Virginia, Alderman Library/UVA, Virginia Rooms in public libraries, on line .... there is soooo much out there .... more than any/most any other family in this country ... you just have to look for it. It's there. Not all is recorded correctly so dig around --- so much is available. DAR, Library of Congress, Chapel Hill/UNC Library, Williamsburg, VA, etc.
The Tayloe family was the cream de la cream. Family documents have been kept on this family like no other. We are lucky to have so much on this family line.
