Hello Maureen,
My grandmother was a Taverner. I have a family tree of Taverner's going back to Ralph le Tavenier in 1272 in North Elenham (England?). There are lots of Johns, Henrys, Thomas's, Richards and Williams in our family tree. Some went to Ireland from England, some went to Australia, Canada and also New Zealand. Two members of the family started the Tavener (dropping one r) Confectionary business in Liverpool, England, now known as Tavener and Rutledge Ltd., Sweet-makers.
