Tauffenbach/Pelletier History

I am looking for some history on my great grandmother who's maiden name is Tauffenbach. I remember her telling me stories about my great grandfather being a well known painter from France who left France through Denmark to come to Canada after the Germans took over France. I do know that one of his better known paintings was called "Signpost" and it featured a man standing on the shoulders of another man while cleaning the snow off of a sign post. I have also recently been told that had a daughter (I think that was my great grandmother)and she married a man with the last name of Pelletier. They had three children that I know of named Gertrude, Jeanne, and Theresa (Tess). Both Gertrude and Jeanne married brothers with the last name of Georgeson. Gertrude's husband's name was George but I don't know the first name of Jeanne's husband. Gertrude and George has kids and one of them is my biological father, Lawrence Preston. Anyone with any information, please let me know anything. Thank you.
