Hi Irene,

Many thanks for that. It sort of confims what I have suspected. I have a copy of the Bishops Transcript of Martha Tatton's marriage to John Hibbert at Manchester Cathedral 2nd March 2010. All their children, including 'my' Martha were baptised in Gorton.
I had seen the IGI entry of a Martha Tatton born 1789 and baptised in Denton on 3rd August 1790. This lists her parents as William and Sarah (you have Mary?)for whom I could not find a marriage, unless it is Sarah Barington at Prestwich on 25.10.1787. I had suspected too that Martha Holden was his first wife.
I am assuming this William was the son of John and Ellen baptised 17/11/1752 in Gorton and who died in 1835.
I can well relate to your lack of time. I have so many irons in the fire it has become quite a juggling act!
Many thanks for your response
