John Collins, Sussex Co., DE, d. leaving a will dated 25 June 1775, proved
29 Dec 1776, naming wife Edy (extx.), sons John (exec.), Hancock, and Andrew
Collins, daus. Elizabeth Collins, Edy Townsend (wife of Elias), Rachel Wattson (wife
of Jesse), Mary Tatman (wife of Mitchell), and grandson John Tatman (son of
Mitchell). Wit: William Hazzard, Jonathan Millman, Michael Millman. {SXPR Wills

John was the father of: JOHN; HANCOCK; ANDREW; ELIZABETH17;
EDY, m. Elias Townsend; RACHEL, m. Jesse Wattson; MARY, m. Mitchell Tatman.
MARY COLLINS was the dau. of John (1) Collins and Edy (N), m. Mitchell
Tatman.
The grandfather of Charles Tatman, Mitchell Tatman, was also a farmer,
and passed his days on the old homestead, which had probably been in the possession
of the family from early colonial times. His wife was Mary, daughter of John Collins,
of Sussex County, and cousin of Gove rnor Collins, of Delaware. {Scharf: L}
