I am descended from Thomas Waldron and Sally Tate, through their son John. Im searching for Sally's parents. I have been told that maybe Nathanial tate (Nathaniel Tate , Capt. was born ABT 1755. He married Susannah Gilliam, daughter of Unplaced Gilliams, born ABT 1760). is her father, however on her marriage bond, it is signed by Jesse Tate. I would love it if you can help me sort out all the Tates, and help me find Sally's background. Im a DAR member and want to find another patriot.
I was sent this info today, dont know if its correct:
Jesse Tate as Sally's uncle. I have Sally H. Tate (born abt 1778, Virginia) who married Thomas Waldron on 12 Jun 1799. I have Sally's parents as Capt. Nathaniel Tate (Born 1752, Fredericksville, VA. Died Aug 1805,Russell, Bedford, VA) and Susannah Gilliam (Born abt 1757, of Bedford, VA. Died 26 Jan 1778, Bedford, VA)Susannah is Nathaniel's second wife he married on 26 Jan 1778. Nathaniel's first wife was Rhoda Terry and they were married on 22 Feb 1773 and had one child, Nathaniel Green Tate. Rhoda died bef 1778.
There is another Sally Tate who is a first cousin to Sally Tate mentioned above. This Sally's parents were Jesse Tate and Margaret Miller. Jesse and Nathaniel were brothers and children of Henry Tate and Sarah Netherland.
