John Tate who lived in Washington Co VA, and then came to Indiana was my ancestor. Although we have no documentation, family history has always said that William was the father of John. Don't knwo how I would prove this, but I do know that is where they came from. There are documents saying that John Tate sold his land on the Holston River prior to the move.
