There was a Jacob Tash who came from Scotland via Ireland who supposedly had two sons. The oldest Son was a Colonel Thomas Tash born in 1722 in Newmarket, NH (formerly Oyster River Plantation)and the younger being named John born in 1729. Jacob was one of the Proprietors of Barrington, NH. Colonel Thomas Tash was a proprieter of New Durham, NH. He had a son named Thomas born in 1763 and a son named Jacob born in 1778.John Tash had a son named Thomas who moved to Exeter, ME and was a teacher. My brother and I found this information in the following places. Portsmouth, Newfilds, Barrington, and New Durham. There seems to be some discrepancies that we have not been able to resolve. We are going to Exeter, Milo, Chester, and the area formerly known as Orneville on 29 and 30 August. We are hoping that we can clear up some of the discrepancies.
