Sure looks like a "hit".Review of my original post got me curious as to what "ambrotyplates" are/were.Couldn't find definition of term, but did find one for "ambrotype" which is a photo process involving use of glass plates, hence the sales oriented "ambrotyplates" (seems creating new words to sell something was around in the 1800's also).If you're interested in process, good write-up at URL:

Info also might be used to determine if there are any archived photos produced by the firm; i.e., you'd not only have "standard" gen data, but some of the products of his work with likelihood he had his own photo taken.There are numerous CA photo archive sites that you can find using Goggle.
