I found out from a distance cousin that Rufus M. Tarver is son of Andrew H. Tarver. Andrew left a will in 1855 Wester Co. Ga. and it named his wife as Nancy Draper and 2 sons, James D. and Rufus M. and 4 daughters Catherine, Ellen, Eliza, and Salina. Andrew H. and James D. Tarver are in The 1840 census in Newton Co. Ga. but Rufus wasn't but there is records of his marriage to Francis Henderson in Newton Co. Ga in 1840. He mush have lived with his father or brother at that time. Rufus was found in the 1860 census in Jackson Parish Louisiana with Francis and his 7 children. We believe Andrew H. Tarver is son of John Tarver and Elizabeth Jordan.
