Hi,
Etheldred Jordan TARVER, Sr. (ABT 1767-AFT 1850) died in Augusta, Richmond County, GA, according to my information.
The Jimmy TARVER I referenced is a boy -- really a man of ABT 80 and change. Jimmy lives in Wadley, Jefferson County, GA.
Whitfield County is way up in north GA, if I remember my GA geography, correctly. Etheldred and his wife, Mary ROBINSON, had a son, Etheldred Jordan TARVER, Jr. who did live in Dalton, Whitfield County, GA. Junior (1804-1877) was married to Harriett Jane McNAIR and they had a daughter that married a McAFEE but I do not know a lot about this line.

Etheldred, Sr's family is all over my DANIEL family in Burke County, GA, especailly through the VALLOTTONS. The VALLOTTONS were from Savannah and the TARVERS from Northampton and I think, Greene County, NC.

TARVER researchers have really cobbled this Burke County, GA family all up. The reason is -- there were no early civil records in Burke County, GA which they could use to corroberate the information that some family members stated, so they "winged it." As far as I am concerned, anything these folks tell me, I take with a grain of salt.

I do know that Thomas TARVER was in Greene County, NC with my Robert C. DANIEL (ABT 1765-AFT 1830). Another Greene County, NC family that seems to have followed Robert was the family of John WISE.

My best guess is the family of Samuel Bennett TARVER, your TARVERS and my DANIEL bunch were all related. It do not know whether this was at a sibling or cousin level, though. I know that Judge Andrew Etheldred TARVER, Esq., Samuel's boy, and my DANIEL bunch were thicker than theives in Jefferson County, GA in the period after 1850. In fact, Judge TARVER lived right by my GGF, Robert W. DANIEL, Esq. (1809-1865) in Jefferson County, GA.

The only way I connect, directly to the TARVERS, is through Lucretia DANIEL (1807-1849) who married William Allen TARVER, Sr b. 1805.. Jimmy TARVER of Wadley is their great grandson. Other TARVER children of this union married a BARBOUR, a QUINNEY and a McDONOUGH. After Lucretia's death, William "Allen" TARVER married a Nancy WATKINS in 1852 (marriage performed by RWD) and they had two children - John "Jack" (married a Sally BARBOUR) and Henry who married a Pearla PAUL, as they say. I do not know what happened to Allen TARVER.
