Hi Carol,

Ebenezer and Powers Tarter were brothers. They also had siblings:
William b. 18 April 1828 in KY married Sarah J. 'Salling' Walling;
Elizabeth b. 1825 married Thomas J._______[surname unknown];
Alvadus born 1827 married #1 Emily J._______ married #2 Eliza J. Burton;
Achilles born 1830 d, 1858;
Barbary born 18 April 1831;
Shelby born 22 March 1833, married # 1 Mary Ann Retherford & #2 Manerva Pickett;
George Washington born 1840, he married Mary 'Polly' Roberts.

Ebenezer Powers was born November 1829 and he married Amanda Malinda Yates; Powers Tarter was born in 1823 and he married Jane Warp.

I have no idea who the parents of these children were, however since they were all born in Pulaski County, Kentucky they have to be from someone in that county. This is not my branch of the Tarter's, however suspect that there is some relationship to mine, as some of the children migrated to that area of Kentucky. I am a descendant of Maria Mattellina "Polly" Tarter who married Samuel Repass. Maria was a daughter of Nicholas Tarter [1744/45-1821] and his wife Maria Parcell.

Hope this little bit of information helps. I have a little bit more on Ebenezer from the 1880 census of East Fork, Metcalfe County, Kentucky census if you are interested. E-mail me.

Best Wishes,
Sue Eagle Sparkman
