Susan-here is what I've found in some of my records, some just speculation. My grandfather Squire Franklin Tarter Born 8-29-1885 Pulaski Co. His father John P. Tarter born 3-3-1856 Pulaski Co.,married Matilda Jane Calhoun born 1860,KY. I now think John P's father is Squire T.Tarter born 1819 Pul.Co.,married to Polly Schoolcraft born 1826 in KY. Squire T's father I think was Christian Logan Tarter of Wythe Co.Va or California, born around 1788 & married to Betsy Trimble of Greenbrier Co.,Va.They married in Pul. Co,Ky. Then this is where I get confused I think Christian's father is John Tarter born around 1762 in Pa. and married to Catherine?,Nancy Logan or Elizabeth Mohr. Then I think John Tarter's father was Johann Baltser Tarter born 11-22-1735 in Germany-married to Maria Magdelena Tarter from Va.Then maybe Johann Baltser's father was Mattheis Doetter from Germany married to Margaretha. I've just kind of uncovered all of this in the past few hours, but not sure if I'm way off base since I'm fairly new at this.Thank you so much for any help or more info. Judi
