I am very new to tracing my family but my mother, Vera Margaret Tarry (birth name) passed away in 1997 (aged 70) and I'm struggling to find her family history.
The details I have, from family members is that her father was Edwin Archbold (sp ?) Tarry who had a tin with the initials H A (Tarry)and married Elizabeth Cook (Cooke ?). Elizabeth already had two children (Percival and Hilda) from a previous marriage and her 1st husband, Mr Cook died in WW1.
After re-marriage, Elizabeth and Edwin had 7 children: Vera, Leonard (Len), Arthur, Edward (Ted), Brian, Jean and Frank.
All of these children lived in Leicester and many have now passed away.
If any of this rings a bell or makes sense to any other Tarry researchers, please contact me.
