Dear Mr. Tarpley,

Thanks so much for responding to my Tarpley query. I was looking for infomation on James Tarpley because his name appeared in a business ledger from the Accokeek Iron Works here in Stafford County, Virginia. I quickly discovered that there were several James Tarpleys who were of age to have been doing business with Accokeek, either purchasing iron products from the furnace or selling goods to the company store. I never felt fully comfortable with any of the Tarpley material that I found, nor was I sure which James was involved with the furnace. I so appreciate your information regarding this very interesting family and wish that we could have crossed paths prior to the publication of my book on the iron works.

Thanks again!

Jerrilynn Eby
