On my last post I said that my grandfather, James Tarpey b 1875, parents were John Tarpey & Ann Dolan. I has since found out that that information is incorrect. John was his uncle. His parents were Michael Tarpey and mother was Bridget (?). James has brothers, John 1857, Thomas b 1862, Michael b 1872, Frank b 1870, Frank died before the 1880 census. There is also a sister, Mary E Tarpey b 1864. Mary never married and died in 1943. Both Michael and Bridget were born in Ireland. In the 1880 census Michael was listed as a widower.
