Hi, Chuck -

My Tarman connection is: my grandmother was Maggie Tarman, born Shippensburg, PA, her father was George Saylor Tarman and his father was Aquila Tarman. They were back and forth across the MD/PA state line for years. Aquila born 1776, married Mary Anderson abt 1810 in MD - had 10 kids - oldest was John; my GGrandfather George born Mont Alto, PA, 1817. I have the charts at home. If this sounds like a connection, you can e-mail me at ecusimano@msn.com and I'll get more detail for you. You don't give dates for your Tarmans - could be siblings? Cousins? I don't know Aquila's father's name. We had reason at one time to suspect it was John. Tarman's an unusual name and with the location, I'm sure yours and ours are connected. I think they've been in the US just about forever - we've never been able to learn when they arrived here - yet. I'd be happy to hear from you.

Eileen
