Im seeking any information on J.W. Tarkington and his family. They are listed in the 1860 Census for Henderson County, TN but disappear with the next census 10 years later. Tarkington sided with the Union during the Civil War. There was a J.W. Tarkington who was sheriff of Dyer County, TN in 1866, but I'm not certain this is him. Can anyone help? Thank you!
