I see now where the Cemetery is, but it's quite a ways off from where my other Tarkington's lived in I/T or Okla.
I did find what I believe to be this William that is buried there as having the middle initial of L., or at least the Co. and Infantry Unit match at http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/soldiers.htm (Note--Sometimes this site doesn't respond, for some reason.)
I found a kin once there and sent off for their records from the Nat'l Archives.
