The reason that I have been interested in the William Tarkington buried in Henderson Cemetery in White Co.,Ark. is the information about him shows that he was born in 1850.I had a great uncle, William Tarkington, who was also born in 1850 to William Tarkington(born 1815 in Tenn.) William born in 1815 was the son of Isaac Tarkington and Delaney Winslow. After the census of 1870 of Stone Co., Ark., my great uncle William Tarkington can no longer be located. At first I thought maybe your William who is buried in the Henderson Cemetery might be mine. However, my great uncle had a sister named Nancy Caroline Tarkington who married William G.Harper and they moved to Potawatomie Co.,Okla.There is a William Tarkington buried in the Old Moral Cemetery which is Potawatomie Co.,Okla.There areno dates. Just the fact that he served in the Civil War in Tennessee and it tells which division.Since my grandmother, Nancy Caroline Tarkington Harper moved to Potawatomie Co,Okla., I thought maybe this might be my gt uncle in the Old Moral Cemetery.Did your William who is buried in the Henderson Cemetery serve in the Civil War?
