Dorothy - Unfortunately, I have not been able to research further about Henghist Tarkington or Emma Gordon. I am at a complete dead-end. This is what I do know - Henghist and Emma Tarkington were farmers and resided in Malacoff, Navarro County, Texas The 1900 U.S. Census, Texas, Navarro County, listed Arkansas as Henghist's birthplace. Emma listed Texas as her birthplace and Mississippi as birthplace for her parents. The 1910 U.S. Census, Texas, Haskell Township, Henghist listed Texas as birthplace for parents and himself. I have found a possible connection of a Henglist Tarkington, born Abt. 1857 and sister, Julia Tarkington, born abt. 1860. Parents: Abram C. Tarkington and Nannie L. Moore. The family Group Sheet listed Elisha S. Gordon as Julia Tarkington's spouse. However, I have not been able to find a connection to this family group. My husband is a descendant of Henghist Tarkington (great-grandfather), Henghist L. Tarkington (grandfather). Our family lives in San Rafael, California. Deweyn T. Tarkington, son of Emma Gordon and Henghist Tarkington, has descendants living in Dallas, Texas. Elisha and Emma Gordon maybe twins. Other siblings include James and Henry. This information was found in a scrapbook given to me by a descendant of Henghist L. Tarkington. If you should have additional information that might help me in researching further about Emma Gordon and Henghist Tarkington, it would be most appreciated. Thank you for replying to my message. Barbara Tarkington
