David & Maria Broome Tarbert
Posted by: Hollis Davison (ID *****3174) Date: July 06, 2002 at 14:28:48
  of 99

Seeking info about my greatgrandmother's family. She was Maria Ellen "Ella" Tarbert, b: Jan 15, 1864 Columbia, PA; m: James William Davison Nov 4, 1880 Polk Co, MO; and she d: Nov 29, 1834. She moved to near Half Way, Polk Co, MO with a Faircloth family. It is believed that her parents died when Maria was very young and that the Faircloths took her in to raise.

Her parents were David and Maria Broome Tarbert. Known siblings were Caroline, Lewis, and Gelia (b: abt 1870).

My father remembered his great-uncle, David Tarbert, visiting with the family in Polk Co, MO during the 1920s. He thought that David lived in Florida (He once brought my Dad a toy alligator.).

Some in the family have spelled the name as Tarbet although the family Bible has the Tarbert spelling.

Any information will be greatly appreciated. Hollis in VA.
