Tarbert Family in Glasgow
My greatgrandfather on my father's side was Michael Tarbert from County Roscommon, Ireland. He married Catherine Cassidy from County Sligo, Ireland in 1847 in Old Monklangd, Scotland. The had several children, some born in Scotland, some not. The family seems to have disappeared from Scotland between 1857 and 1871

Michael, father
Michael, son born in 1843 in Old Monkland. He died in 1919 at 1542 Paisley RoadWest, Glasgow. He never married.
Patrick, son born February 27 in 1855 in Sheepfordlock, Coatdyke.He married Ellen Degnan. He was a seaman in the maritime service. there is no record of his death in Scotland.
Mary,daughter born May 8, 1857 in Sheepsford, Coatdyke. She married a James McDonald. She died in 1906. There was a daughter called Margaret who married Thomas Gallagher.
John, son , born October 23 1859 in 20 Maxwellton, Paisley. There is no record in Scotland of hid marriage or death.
Thomas, son, No recorde of birth for Thomas in Scotland. He never married and died July 28, 1924 at 142 Eglinton Street, Glasgow.
William, son, not born in Scotland.
Catherine, daughter. No record of birth in Scotland. Married my grandfather James Caffrey on February 2, 1894 at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Chapel, Govan, Glasgow. They had four children, Mary Tully born 1896 in Govan, John born 1897 in Govan, James (my father) born February 5, 1898 in Govan and Catherine born 1900 in Govan. My grandmother Catherine and her daughter Catherine both died in 1900 and are buried in Govan. There is no trace of either Mary or John Caffrey in Scotland after their births. Nobody in my family has ever heard of them from my grandfather or my father. What became of these children? Please respond by Email if any of this information is relevant or known to you.
