Robert Henry Tapscott (1780 - 2 May 1826) was a relatively well-known State Representative from Morgan County Alabama. In a nutshell, Robert Henry was the son of James Tapscott (wife Elizabeth Davis), who was the son of Henry Tapscott, "Capt. Henry" (wife Margaret Stott), who was the son of Henry the Immigrant and Ann his wife.
Basic facts about Robert Henry Tapscott and a multitude of descendents are documented in the book Bettina Pearson Higdon, Tapscott, Ancestors and Descendants of Robert Henry Tapscott, Alabama State Representative 1824, The Gregath Company, Cullman, Alabama, 1987, which is almost impossible to get a hold of, though I do have a copy. The index to the book contains no reference to either a Burris or a Gandy. Since the book is intended as a genealogical study rather than a history, this only implies that Burris and Gandy are not related to Robert Henry Tapscott by blood or marriage.
