Dan, Unfortunately, we don't know the church affiliation. Matter of fact, until yesterday, I didn't even know there was a Tapscott connection and no one of my father-in-law's generation ever knew the Deggs/Degge/Diggs family. The Robert I found in Kemper was by accident....I started looking when by chance I found that James B. Deggs had married Mrs. Olivia Tapscott and then found that James' eldest son by his first marriage was named Tapscott. The fact that both couples were from VA, sent me looking there. Prior, all we knew was: +James B. DEGGS and wife Unknown ++Mary Ann DEGGS (our family thought she was born in Kemper Co., MS, but the 1880 census lists her place of birth as AL) and William Brame Collins +++Stella Ann Collins and James Warren Daniel ++++Quilla Joe Daniel and Lillie Mae Glovier +++++my father-in-law In the 1850 census, James Deggs did NOT have a daughter Mary but Robert Tapscott DID, and of the right age. Do you know if John T. Degges had any sons? Thanks a lot, Jan Notify Administrator about this message?
