We are searching for Refugio Tapia, b. abt. 1844. His b. place is unk, but he m. abt. 1898 Gertrudis Urias, b. 1874. We think the marr. may have been in Guaymas, Sonora, MX. Family legend says he was a barber. Their children were Refuigo (1899), Ma. Luisa (1901), Leonor (1903), and Ma. Beatriz (1906).
Gertrudis' family was from El Triunfo, B.C. They were miners, following the mines from El Triunfo, to Santa Rosalia, to Guaymas, to Hermosillo, to Cananea (Camp Buena Vista) where our mother Beatriz was born.
Refugio and Gertrudis may have followed the family in their migrations north to these towns. We believe grandfather may have d. abt 1905, just before Beatriz was born in Jan.
Gertrudis' other children were fathered by Charles Wright, Leandro Maldonado, and Herculano Ortiz.
If anyone is familiar with these families, please contact us. Thank you for your help. - Margt
