I believe that the FamilySearch record is wrong about John G. Tant's wife.

In "Brides and Grooms, Marriages Licenses and Certificates of Richmond County, Georgia" by Arthur Ray Rowland of the Augusta Genealogical Society, if you look on page 421, it says that John G. Tant married Rebecca Hill on 11/19/1854. Note that Rhoden was born not long after the marriage, so this record seems reasonable.
