Tanner & / Stonecipher families/ Miss.

We have been working very hard for yrs. on our Miss. Tanners..still stumped..we have Y DNA now into DNA project. The story we were told was that the Tanners(Gerber) & Stoneciphers came to this country together from Germany, but they were not Germans, but Armenians who were brought into Germany as skilled craftsmen, stone and tanners. There is also proof that our John Tanner was in Georgia, a lot of land was in his name and he sold it to come to Miss. His homeplace and family cemetery just across the Al. line into Miss. just above the Miss. Gulf Coast. Pat in Mobile, Alabama
