I am trying to locate information on the family of
C. Joseph Tanner. He was born in Penn. then other places I see Virginia.
he married a Susan Gosney and had 8 children he was also in the Civil War.
would like any informtion and Photo's you would like to share.
he is buried in Cherokee Co. Kansas.on the 1880 census it shows he was born in VA.
but the obituary from where he died in 1921 says that his name was C. Joseph Tanner born 1827 in PA.
to 1870 he lived in VA, and Illinois. 1857 he married Susan Goseny and they had 11 children....8 living at the time of his death. he served three years in the 77th Illinois, during the Civil War and was wounded.

another bit of information was that they were married in PA.
I have the dates and names of whom his children married.
