I am seaching for the parents of Cynthia M. Tankersley born
4/28/1824 in Alabama, died 2/29/1900 in Lauderdale County, Alabama. She is buried at the Wright Cemetery in the Wright community near Waterloo, Lauderdale County, Alabama. In census reports she list her parents both being born in Virginia. Other reseachers have shown her name as Cynthia Mary Ann Tankersley. She lst married John Whitsett, and they lived in Arkansas. After his death she came back to Lauderdale County, and 2nd married Ephraim Reed. In one census report John Tankersley born abt 1820 in Tennessee is living next door. I believe John is her brother. I am wondering if Mary Ann is her name and she was called "Cynthia". She is my gg-grandmother. My granny's name is Mary Wade Reed, therefore I have tried to connect the Wade as a surname for Cynthia's mother or grandmother in hopes of making a connection. This is a broken link I have reseached many years. Does anyone have a Mary in their files that would fit this description?
