My grandfather Frederick Augustus TANGER came to the United States from Sweden in 1877, 14 years of age. He settled in North Dakota. He might have come here with a brother, Charles and sisters Anna and Marie. He said his name was changed while in either Sweden or Germany before coming to the US, (family story).
