I don't know wher you obtained your information regarding William tandy. I have a database of nearly 6000 Tandy B/M/D taken from Civil registration (i.e from 1837) and I have no such record. I have a total of 30 records of Tandys born in Gloucestershire since 1837. A William henry Tandy was b. in 1859 but in Winchcombe dist (not Cheltenham); he is the only one b.that year. A John William tandy was b. 1879 in Tetbury dist, and another one b.1852 in Stroud dist. The only one I have b.in Cheltenham is Charles William Tandy, b.1861.

I hope this helps, but I'm not sure it will. I have no information about wives or ancestors/successors.
