Ann, Thank you very much for your message. Isaac Masters is also my Great Grandfather. Clara, his wife, caused me a few years of grief as I just couldn't find her anywhere..... I now have a fair bit of information and can inform you that she did not die in 1901 nor did Isaac remarry. I have a photograph of Clara with two of my uncles and one aunt. Thorne, resident of Church St. Bedwas, Son in Law, was present at Death. Lived at Pentwynmawr at time of marriage Mynyddyslwyn microfiche 4382 1891 census entry 330 at The Factory Isaac Masters? Stepson 17 years Coalminer. The 1881 census has this couple (it appears) to be living just a few miles from each other. Isaac ( aged 18) in Westerleigh (his father was a farm labourer) and Clara A TAMLYN (aged 12) (father a dairy farmer) at Mangotsfield. Reputed (by Mum, Clara May Masters (Elsbury), to be a drunkard. He had a horse and carriage to convey people - pre bus days! I do have more information should you wish to have it. Notify Administrator about this message?
