My name is John Tam. I happened on to your posting while searching for immigration records from the 1800's, the period my great-grandfather landed in California.I just can't help but express my amazement at the fact that there are others with my surname who may not be exclusively of Chinese origin.I live in the San Francisco Bay Area where you can find at least 50 John Tams in the telephone directory.....all of them Chinese.
