Hi Mary. Thank you for explaining your family a little. It's an interesting story. Except for the small, tragic part.

I have one question. Of the ~10 grandchildren of the 13 LEWIS siblings that I've found, most of them don't know about their great-grandparents, "Stanley" and Mary. So I'm curious when you say you know a lot about your mother's side of the family.

One of my aunts has always thought that we had a Native American woman on our family tree. But, after 15 years of trying to find out, I haven't been successful. But, there is one female ancestor I don't know anything about, and there is a small possibility that she could have been Native America. This is Clarissa KIDDER's family tree. She was my grandmother, and Grampy Lewis' first wife. Clarissa's father was born near Calais, Maine, and that area around 1800 is tough to research.

Do you have a copy of the pictures of the large Lewis family? There was one when there were only 6 or 7 of the children, and then there was another when all 13 children had been born.

I've had an extra busy 3 days and I had to spend today catching up on housework, etc. And, one of my young grandsons might be visiting tomorrow, so early in the morning I'll need to "baby-proof" my home. So, that's all I'll say for now.

I post a lot of my genealogy information on the Mailing Lists at www.rootsweb.com And sometimes on their Message Boards. So, if you'd like to look at some of my queries and postings, you can check the archives. Especially the ones about Middlesex Co., MA.

This is one example. It is what I knew in 2006, and since then I've learned some of the information is wrong.

This is another message from 2002 with some information. Remember it is what I knew at that time.

That's all I'll say for now.

Oh, by the way, you can e-mail me directly if you want.

Oh, now that I look at that list, I can say I've found descendants of: "May" GREENE (granddaughter lives in Nantucket), and Emily WING, and Arthur LEWIS, and John LEWIS. Through someone else I heard about a descendant of Blanche JOYCE but she refuses to e-mail with me. And I found out a few years ago that a daughter of Louise CHASE lives near me. "Will" LEWIS had a daughter but no grandchildren. I know very little about the families of Eddie LEWIS and Frank LEWIS. I know very little about "Etta" HUBER. I know a little Bella PHELAN but can't find descendants. (I know Bella died in childbirth and Frank died as a young man but I think he had married and had a child before he died.)

Chat with you later.

Betty
