Hello. I just found out that my father's aunt married a Durling TALMADGE, who was born in 1894 in either NJ or NY. I don't know anything else about him.
If he is the right man, he married Helen Gertrude LEWIS around 1924 in Stoneham, MA. They had a daughter, Mona, in 1925, a daughter, Marian, in 1926, and then 4 more children. The 1930 Census had them living in Paterson, NJ, with 4 children (2 young sons).
I don't know when they moved to California, but they seem to have lived in Gardena, CA, or in Los Angeles, for the rest of their marriage. I just found out that Durling died in 1959, and I was reminded that Helen died in 1972.
I just did a little on-line searching, and I'm not finding a TALMADGE family in MA, NJ, or NY, with a son, Durling.
Does anyone know which family he might have been part of? (One "hint" is that his death record said that his mother's maiden name was LEWIS, but that could have been a mistake.)
