Looking for Susan's parents -- Mrs. Susan Haley, wife of Patrick Haley of Goshen Twp died at her home on Wednesday afternoon 1/13/1892 aged 87 yrs. Deceased had been an invalid for many years and had not been able to leave her home for several years. Deceased was born in Ireland in 1805; was married in NYC to Mr. Haley in 1835. Six children were born to them, all of whom are dead except one, Hon. John Haley, who was elected to the Legislature from this county twice. In the fall of 1837 they removed to Hardin Cty, settling in Goshen Twp. Mr. Haley and wife journeyed from Sandusky City to this county on foot, Mr. Haley carrying the household effects, while Mrs. Haley carried their son John, who was then a baby. They underwent the trials and hardships incident to pioneer life and lived to enjoy the reward of their hardships and see the wilderness that once surrounded them turned into
