This is not in my line but found on the back of a undated newspaper clipping of my mother (possibly from Mount Dora or Orlando, FL abt. 1950):
Heading: More Dorans Get Service Call;
Part pertaining to Pickins Tally: At the same time, it was learned that Pickens Tally, son-in-law of Mrs. J. G. Kirby of Mount Dora, and now a resident of Vero Beach was recalled. A veteran of the last war, he escaped miraculously from death when his bomber was shot down on the edge of Japan and plunged into the ocean. He was the only man aboard the plane to be saved.
