My grandfather, Matthew Tallon, born c1838 at Aughnacloy, Tyrone emigrated to Australia in 1869. He was the son of William Tallon, Bootmaker, and Mary McKelvie who married at Templepatrick, Co. Antrim in 1835 before moving to (Tully) Aughnacloy, Co Tyrone. William Tallon, the son of Robert Tallon and his wife Jane of Tully Hill, Aughnacloy, was baptised at Aughnacloy in 1814. Either Robert or both Robert and Jane Tallon were from Co. Antrim. Members of the Tallon family lived at Aughnacloy until the late 1800's. I would like to hear from anyone who can shed any light on the these families in Ireland.
