Jon, I haven't been on geneology.com in few years, but I posted a message some time ago and today saw yours from June 2006. I have my Tallman family tree back 15 generations to Michiel Taleman (with much of the history from this type of website). I have a couple of pages from some genealogy work done in the early 20th century that details quite a bit of information on Rescom Tallman. It includes details of his service in the Army during the American Revolution, marriage to Mary Gorham in Dartmouth, Mass in 1780, their move to Delhi, NY and eventually in 1816 their move to Castile, NY. Our family stayed in western NY since; at least until members of my generation moved to various other states. The male lineage from Rescom to me is as follows: Rescom -> Charles (1786-1861) -> Benson (1812-1898) -> Aldelbert (1848-1926) -> Rolin (b1872) -> Adelbert (1901-1964) -> Raymond (1935-1988) -> John Tallman (b1963) (brother Vincent Tallman b1965) -> my 5 kids, 4girls and 1 boy. Further moves included my grandfather Adelbert moving from Silver Spring, NY to Nunda, NY; my father Raymond moving to Hornell, NY; and myself, currently living in Bluffton, SC. I don't have a great deal of cool memorabelia, but I do have a photograph taken in1897 of Benson, Adelbert, Rollin, and Norman Tallman. Also, a diary from Adelbert noting many interesting daily activities on his farm in the Castile/Silver Spring, NY area from 1881-1882. I would be more than happy to part of the DNA study, as would my brother. Thanks and hopefully you get this. Regards, Dr. John Tallman, CDR USN Notify Administrator about this message?
