Talley line in Barthalomew County, Indiana

Marion Talley the opera singer was born in Vernon County, MO. On the 1880,1900, and 1910 census I find a Talley family from Barthalomew County Indiana living in Vernon County MO. In fact, I find the head of that family to contain the name "Marion". He was Nelson Marion Talley.

We know that Marion Talley the opera singer's parents were Charles M. Talley b. 1870 MO d. Jackson County, Missouri and Helen H. Brown b. 1876 Wisconsin d. CA. Charles M. Talley's parents were Marion N. Talley b.Indiana and Hannah Radley/Rudley b.Illinois.

We know that family says that Nelson Marion Talley had a son William A.Talley born in Kansas but lived in Jackson County, Missouri 1910,1920 and 1930 and died there.

Are all of these things coincidences? Are the two families connected in some way. Could Nelson Marion Talley be Marion N. Talley the father of Charles M. Talley?

Nelson Marion Talley had three wives. Hannah is not listed by the family as being one of those wives. Could the family be wrong? We are told by the family that Charles M. Talley was raised by a man named Richard Tucker.--Why? (Charles M. Talley isn't found on a census before 1910) We are told that Marion N. Talley's middle name is Nicholas. Could the family be wrong about this middle name?

Nelson Marion Talley's father was Harrison Talley the son of John Jesse Talley and Mary Catherine Grady Talley of Mercer County, Kentucky. Harrison Talley is on the 1870 and 1875 census in Crawford Co. Kansas and on the 1880 census in Vernon County, Missouri. Nelson Marion is also on the 1875 census in Crawford Co. Kansas but he is not found on any census in 1870. In 1860 the Harrison Talley family is in Barthalomew County, Indiana.
