Hello David!
Thought it was about time I said hello!
I'm very curious about this couple, Thomas and Teresa Tallent/Tallant and hopefully, you might be able to help me....I'll try and put you in the picture as it's quite complicated.
My GGGrandfather, James Harper (from Halewood, Liverpool) had two sisters, Sarah and Jane Molyneux, who married two brothers, Alfred and Frederick Nelson.
James, Sarah and Jane Harper had another sister, Mary, who married William Pendleton. I'm mentioning this, since you've also touched on the Pendletons.
In the 1881 census, Sarah and Alfred Nelson's daughter, Amy Jane Nelson, was staying with the above Teresa Tallant and Teresa's brother Thomas Grogan, as their cousin, but I haven't been able to work out how, yet!
Also in the 1881, Teresa's sister, Margaret, had just married a Peter Rice, from Ireland, (transcribed wrong on the census)and they were both visiting Sarah Nelson, Amy Jane's mum.
In the 1881, Sarah Nelson's young son James, was visiting some nearby neighbours, the Duttons and Peter Rice's sister, was married to a Dutton! Perhaps they were just good friends!!
Teresa Tallant and her siblings were born in Knotty Ash, but it appears that her parents, Patrick and Sarah, came from Ireland.
Now, as you see, I'm completely knotted! Hope you can shed some leads on this puzzle
