Hello:
My mother's given name was Janet Talkington. She was born in Chattanooga TN but lived from infancy until she was about 33 in the Gary Indiana area. Mom is the 2nd eldest of 7 kids.
Mom is 58 now. Her father was William Edgar Talkington. He was from Scottsboro Alabama. I am not sure that is where he was born though. He had 2 brothers, Jay (not sure if that was short for "John" or if it was really just "Jay") and Paul Talkington.
I do know that his mother had 5 kids. She had 2 with her first husband and when he died she married my great grandfather and they had 3 more. His name was John Simeon Talkington. My mother can only remember one of his 3 brothers, his name was Harvey. Harvey owned a store somewhere in Alabama.
I read on another post that that Talkington name can be traced back to the Mayflower, have you heard that?
