Dear Carole, Yes, we are related!! I got most of my information from a geneological chart from the Library of Virginia. (Tyler's Quartley, Vol. I and III) and piecing together what I could generate off Ancestry and Rootsweb. etc. Over the last year, I have gone back even further than William and Ann Walker to connect with the original Taliaferros. (with lots of help from others) Yes, Christopher Robinson Taliaferro was born in 1764 in Fork Bridge,King William Co., Virginia; was married twice, Lucy Anderson and Elizabeth Pollard (1759-1812) Yes, , and member of the Committee of Safety for the county 1773 as I read off the chart. He did have a son William Harris Taliaferro along with , John,"Jack", Walker (his daughter, Lucy married her cousin, as I mentioned, William Christopher) Mary, Lucy. William Christopher Taliaferro who was my great, grandfather. (More on him later in other emails...it get really strange.) I think everything is in order except.... The discrepancy lies in a different Christopher Walker. John,"Jack" and Nancye Brooke had a son named Christopher Walker, 1791-1838 who did indeed marry Flannie Fleet. According to this geneological chart, the name Martha Ann Aylett Taliaferro married Capt. Ellett. Could that be your grandmother? Wasn't the names,Nancy and Mary used interchangeably? But,I do see the name Nancy Taliaferro, also listed 1788 on another family chart off rootsweb marrying William Ellett Taliaferro. Also Jack had two wives, (2) Nancy Catlett. Information gets strewned ,and I wouldn't be my life on its accuracy. Now that I look closer at the chart and what you have related, I do see that Walker Taliaferro did have a son William Elett who married Nancy Brooke Taliaferro. So my chart might have some errors. Cousins marrying cousins seems to be the case. And you said that your line is Walker Taliaferro and Milderd Coleman Ellett...and it was their daughter that married William Christopher Taliaferro, my great great grand father. You have just expanded on that line from Wm. Ellett...thank you! Daniel in my line doesn't come on until 1846 who was the father of my grandad. And I do see on this chart that Evelyn maried Maj. Bronqauth and Creed T. Jeter. That is as far as I have for this line. I was in King William County this summer and tried to go to the courthouse musueum which was closed. I did drive around Essex County and their musueum was also closed. My main objective was to do research at the Library of Virginia and explore Richmond where my father grew up. Unfortunately time was limited. I plan to go back this summer and visit Shendandaoh area since some of William Christopher Taliaferro son's lived and died there. He is supposed to be buried there in that town. Genealogy is very time consuming, but so wonderfully interesting that sometimes my husband has to call me off the computer for dinner! I am so glad we were able to communicate. Please correct me if I got some information wrong. I am open to error. Elizabeth Taliaferro Slawson (I live in Indianapolis, Indiana-my two boys are grown and finally left the nest; but no grandchildren. Notify Administrator about this message?
